GuiaDeSaude

Editorial Policy

Last updated: May 30, 2026

This page explains how GuiaDeSaude produces and maintains its content. Our commitment is to useful, honest information based on recognized sources, always with the caveat that we are an information portal, and not a medical service.

1. Nature of the content

We produce journalistic and educational content about health. It is intended to inform and help people understand health topics, and does not replace the consultation, diagnosis or treatment of a health professional. We do not publish medication dosage recommendations, individual diagnoses or promises of a cure.

2. Topic selection

We prioritize topics of public interest and low risk, based on common questions from the public. We avoid sensitive topics or those that require individual clinical management.

3. Sources

We always look for the primary and renowned source. Among those we use:

  • World Health Organization (WHO) and PAHO
  • Health ministries, drug regulators and public research institutions
  • MedlinePlus and other resources from the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • CDC (U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)
  • Medical societies and scientific databases (PubMed, SciELO, Cochrane)

We seek to confirm information in more than one source before publishing and do not use blogs, forums, social networks or open encyclopedias as a reference for clinical claims.

4. Production and editing

The texts are researched from these sources and written with the help of artificial intelligence tools. All content goes through human editing by our team before being published. We do not publish automatically generated material without review.

5. Clinical review

When an article is reviewed by a health professional, this is stated in a fixed way, at the beginning of the article. When this indication does not appear, the content has not undergone clinical review. Our goal is to expand, over time, the participation of health professionals in the review of the content.

6. References

At the end of each article, we seek to list the bibliographic references consulted, with links to the original sources.

7. Updates and corrections

We review the content periodically; the date of the last update appears in each article. To report errors, write to [email protected].

8. Editorial independence and advertising

The site may display ads and take part in promotional campaigns. Advertising is separate from the editorial content and does not influence the information presented. Learn more about data and ads in our Privacy Policy.
